    Unhappy Road Worthy Certif

    Hi Guys,

    I need your help!
I just bought a demo GOLF V GTI, with just over 5K's on clock. Basically brand new.

I now need to get the plates changed to VIC plates, but can you beleive it although it's basically new - VIC roads want a road worthy certificate.

DO any of you guys know a mechanic near in Melb (preferbly close to kew/hawthorn) that can write one up for me??

    Needs to be cheap tho...

    Thanks,
    Larry

IIRC, if its still reg'd in another state you shouldnt need a RWC because its not more than 5 years old

    Hi Black VR6,

Thanks for the message, i called VICROADS to verify...
Yep, you're correct if the car was your own and not changing names.
But, in my instance i bought a demo from a dealer - so, requires a RWC.

i might have missed something but i think its compulsory for a dealer to provide you with a rwc upon purchace of the car.

Im sure Uomo would have got a roadwothy but because it was issued in another state to vicroads is worthless.

Did you manage to get it sorted?
