Yep...I have already spoken with Joe. He is going to get himself recognised by my leasing company as a registered repair centre for them. Then the .:R will be going in for some loving.

So do they do normal servicing as well? rather than going to OBVW and paying $300+ for a oil change?

Quite sad that the big dealerships seemingly can't do a decent job.

I have a major issue dropping $350 for an oil change that technically isn't needed for another 7,500 km.

ESPECIALLY if I get my dub back with scratches/ swirls.

Looks like I'm headed to one of the smaller mechanics in 5,000km or so...

I'm fairly sure Golfwagen (NoR) & Quattro Motors (SoR) can do warranty services, I'd be giving which ever is closest to you a call and find out.

My neighbours are currently in the market for a R36 Passat, so they've done the rounds at all the perth vw dealers and decided, yes they really want an R36 Passat. But the service they got from all the dealers was so bad, they've ended up sourcing one over east and it'll be here in a month!

    Tsk tsk eh?

the worsted thing about the big dealers and small services is they charge way too much and you get the least experienced guy in the shop doing the job... we all know they aren't going to put the better guys on stuff like that so why charge so much?

got to make their money when they arent selling cars somehow.

Personally im done with going to dealers, the only reason i went to OP for my last one was because the owed me money and loan car from the last time i got messed around. Will be calling Brian at Quattro motors in a few thousand kms.

Hey lads, thanks for the good words!

Yea we always make it a priority to do the right thing by our customers.
Joe is a good honest operator who I admire. I wouldn't work for him otherwise. He does ALL the mechanical work and I do most of the admin stuff. He's been fixing/racing VW's and Audi's all his life.
As for the other workshops, we can't really comment. But we have seen some pretty appalling work and overcharging by a few places around.

I think as long as the repairer uses OE parts and follows the right procedures stated in the VW Service Manual, your VW warranty should still be upheld. As for dealership warranties, sometimes it's a bit different but you might be able to get around it.

We don't usually wash cars anymore unless it's ok with the owner (even though I used to be the head detailer for new cars at Audi, and know what I'm doing).
Our Cordoba loan car isn't fancy but it is free and we leave it up to the good will of the customer to decide if they want to top up the fuel they use.

Mods, feel free to delete this post if it's breaking any rules!

    Cheers,
    Wade
