    Jmac and Redline Oils

Replaced the GB oil in the Caddy today with Redline MTL (Purchased from Jmac)..

I wouldn't say the difference is night and day.. But it is definitely smoother. The notchyness is gone. 3rd-2nd has improved. 4th-5th doesn't have resistance like it used to.

I must say i'm impressed. And if it's smoother, that means the synchro's are doing it easier, which means things are going to last longer!

I would definitely recommend Redline oil for the gearbox. You won't be disappointed. Ask Jimmy about it. Great to deal with, great price and no BS.

    Thanks, mate. Much appreciated!

Good to hear more posotive results.

A number of Polo GTI owners have gone with the redline based on Jmac's recommendation with similar improvements.

I'm not sure about the GTI, but i think the TDI is a very similar, if not the same gearbox as my Caddy TDI.

Good to hear Preeny. Give it around 300ks for full maximum results, thisgives the oil time to "wick in" to the bearings, baulk rings and syncro hubs.
I used this oil way back in the early 90,s to cure knotchy 02A ,020 and 085/4 gearboxes back in the UK, so when i was presented with a Polo gti with the same sort of symptoms which has an 02R , very similar internals as 02A and 02J,so gave it a lash with good results, thus couldnt help but spruik it on here
    cheers

Yeah i've done about 200+ now (had to go to Bathurst hospital on Monday cause mum had a car accident.. -Long story, but she's alright). It's definitely better. Just bump the gearstick and it slots into the next gear nicely with minimal effort. Very happy. Definitely going to run it in the 16v box when i get that going..

Dont mean to rain on the JMAC parade, but advice aside, I bought my Redline GB oil through PerformanceLub. Harold is based in Melbourne. I found his prices are very competitive and he shipped it almost immediately, got it within 3 days.
