Hail damage. Need reliable repairer in Melbourne.

My 4 week old Golf tsi was smashed by the hail in Melbourne last week. I am having it assessed on Sunday, but if I can't manage to convince them to write it off (after all it was brand new - I can't see it being bought back to 'as new' condition), I am going to need someone I can trust.
We live in Rowville.... help please!!!???

Boronia Panels on Burwood Highway has always done good work in my experience. From my understanding they do a lot of insurance work.
    Hope that helps

Stop stressing, it doesn't help. Wait for the decision, don't live through a thousand scenarios.

The damage you have described would not be repaired, in my opinion. I know I'm not the assessor, so the opinion is worth nothing, but equally, stressing is worth nothing too.

My daughter was heartbroken a few months ago when a numbskull backed into her (parked) Swift. It was fixed up and now is impossible to tell, and life goes on. She never mentions it now.

In a few months you will focus on other things too. Chin up, Lass

Thanks for your help Shteifen. I will have a look at them if it comes to that.

Gerhard I know what you are saying but it's hard not to be concerned.
I have waited a long time for a car like this and it is upsetting. It might be 'just a car', but the money we paid is a lot for us and as much as it is easy to say 'don't stress', it can't be helped.
I am not in the position to replace the car if it doesn't come back fixed to my satisfaction, and I don't have a lot of faith in repairers - sorry to say. (Particularly if I don't know one that can be trusted)

I will try not to stress... it makes sense to wait until a decision is made, but I need to do my homework in the meantime, ask questions and seek advice. Many people on this site have been a great help so far!

AAMI wrote off the car in about 30 seconds......

Now the wait for my new one begins....

That's good news in that you will get a new replacement, but bad news in that there may be a waiting period once again.

Are you going to get the identical spec, or maybe vary it a bit?

I'm curious - will AAMI send you a cheque, or do you go to a dealer, order one, and then send them the bill?

Not sure. Someone will call me this week. Might get a different colour perhaps....
It would be good if the wait was so long that they offered me a GTI instead ha ha!
No, I'd be happy for just the replacement.... although might go the grey or black.....
    Wait and see!
