We used XRP fittings on the Dragster. Great quality and A LOT cheaper than speed flow.![]()
Well I decided to use Pro Flow fittings http://www.pfefittings.com/ and was really dispointed in the quality compared to Speed Flow. There braided hose had a poor weave, which caused real problems when putting the hose in the hose ends also the threads are poor.
Not only did the above piss me off, they also gave me the wrong sizes hoses and An fittings how hard is it if thats your job?!? What annoed me the most was that it all cost 400 bucks which was about 200 cheaper than Speedflow i wish i had forked out the extra dollar I have used Speedflow a bit and there fittings will be mine preffered option now.
REDONK, i will be asking for some compensation in the way of free fittings as they held me up a whole weekend due to incompetence.
It just shows you gotta pay to play ladies and gents

Thats very strange to hear.
I've used god knows how many of these fittings not only on my car, but other friends build's & was put onto them by another friend who builds all sorts of race engines incl. blown alky 1300+hp engines which can use upto & over $1000+ alone on fittings & that's just in the engine bay, let alone the rest of the setup!
Also alot of other know friends also use these fittings on their street drag/ cars with success too. (I'm not talking a VW drag car of 14sec! I'm talking as fast as low 9 sec street cars on the happy gas!)
None of us have ever had a problem with assembling them or any failures etc.
I've also used Earls, speedflow & Russel fittings.
Value for money, its hard to go past PFE fittings
I thought I'd add this info in for the sake of it
I reckon (from experience) that the speedflow fittings are one of the best out there, as they don't restrict the flow as much as the other fittings when using fittings eg. 45° 90° 180° etc
You can see how the diameter is maintained through the fittings, where as the others slim right down through the transitions
I also think form memory that Speedflow have the widest range of fittings etc. Not many of them do the 120°, 150° etc
Proof is in the pics
Speedflow
Earls
XRP I reckon are on the same playing field as Speedflow, but I think Speedflow have a wider range
Russell

XRP have just as wide a range. We got them for the Dragster and they came from (of all places!) VW Paradise. If they weren't any good, VW Paradise wouldn't use them, i can assure you.![]()

was just testing a page for my website and i noticed this link in relation to PFE fittings.
Just thought id throw my hat into the ring too about them.
Ive been using these fittings for about 6 years now and have never had a single failure, and they arent being used in hokey pokey cars either.
They are on a fair few time attack cars i have built, a few 8 second drag cars, and are also on the reigning targa west winning r35 gtr. I have many of the lines on my daily driver too, which get a work out every single day. Current car on the cover of Zoom magazine (very well known performance magazine in Australia) has PFE fittings top to bottom, and the owner of the car was very very happy with how they turned out.
Any issues from people with fittings (regardless of brand) can often be traced back to the inexperienced user ive found in my travels (i.e. people not taping the hose properly before cutting, using the wrong tools to cut, not assembling correctly, thinking they need to tighten the fitting nut all the way to flush with the swivel nut < LOL this is my favourite, guarenteed to snap a fitting doing that, and of course much easier to blame fitting than it is to face up to your own embarrasement!)
they come in many different styles and forms. I personally use and recommend the full flow forged series. These are a single piece, forged alloy construction with full flow design with cutter end, and i believe the quality of them is equal to anything on the market, http://mrparts.com.au/index.php?rout...&path=20_26_73
i dont use the type that you are talking about much at all, but i have had no problem when i have used them either.
my two cents![]()
