cheap goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2 (perth)

    Hi all,

Just thought I would post this up in case anyone's looking at the same.
Needed new tires and I was comparing between the Goodyear Eagle f1a2 and the Conti ContactSport5. Ended up deciding on the former and started price hunting for both.

I stopped hunting after I got this deal from Tyrepower Osb Park (i.e. I didn't try other Tyrepower stores).
total: $1057 [$245 per tyre + $77 alignment. Incl fitting, balancing, disposal].

    By comparison:
    Tirerack: $1300 [USD$156 per tyre + USD$270.63 shipping + A$30 telegraphic transfer fee + estimate A$200 fit/bal/align]
    Tempetyres: $1200 [A$240 per tyre + $100 shipping + est A$200 fit/bal/align]
    Tyresales.com.au: $1406 [shipped, fit/bal/align]
    Beaurepairs: $1348 [fit/bal/align]
    Stgeorges: $1249 [$430 per 2 tyres + $170 s/h + $19 insurance + est $200 fit/bal/align]

For the ContiSport5, cheapest I would have been able to get might have been through Bobjanes 10% price guarantee (offset against tyresales.com.au's $1334 pricing) for around $1200, otherwise tempetyres ($1040 + $200 fit/bal/align) would be next cheapest.

Anyway, I don't know how much longer they will have that pricing for, but for what's currently the best-rated sports performance tyre by lots of car magazines, industry journos and drivers, that's as good a price as any for our often overpriced WA market.

Wow, that is cheap. Wish I could have got some that cheap when I was looking. ended up getting Michellin PS3's because they were cheaper. Still cost more than your's though.

    great price!

Goodyear themselves have a 4 for the price of 3 sale twice a year, and that is usually a good deal

I recently also bought the same tyres in 18/235/40 from Goodyear Croydon in Adelaide. (Somebody posted this deal in one of the subforums here and I jumped right on it)

    Cost to me was:
    4x $170 for tyres
    $60 shipping to Sydney
4x $25 to fit/balance them on at Jax
    Total cost - $840

Although I didn't align them, I kept my old tyres, and shipping to Perth would probably cost more so if you factor in these, it would probably be not that much cheaper (and more hassle) than what you paid

and they're late 2013 tyres, so not old stock either.

swong, $170 is a great price! i doubt shipping would be that much, considering some of the syd/qld players can ship for around $100+ might be worth considering if i ever need a new set (in another 4-5 years..heh)
