    Dashboard Vinyl Repairs Brisbane

Firstly: Please let me know if I have posted incorrectly. I searched for anything first and could not see anything matching. ?

I am wondering if anyone has used/can recommend a vinyl repairer in brisbane who would have to be very very good. I stupidly used bluetack on my MK7 dashboard and it made a stain.... which I spent weeks working on and have of course made it worse. The grain has been rubbed down and shiny. I tried a heat gun and grain pad which helped but I am in over my head. The stain is no longer the issue sadly but trying to put the grain back and paint/blend. I am sure I am not alone here being a complete nut-job with trying to keep my car perfect. I had one "vinyl-leather repair specialist" do a fix and it looked terrible with a big sprayed patch in the middle. I took it all off and it was an improvement.

Ok, I have had a repair done using FIBRENEW in Brisbane. I am confident it has been improved as far as possible. Ian made a grain pad from another part of the dashboard so he matched the grain exactly. He also used the right mat finish so the look is all the same as other parts. Very professional. Cost was $198.00.

Update: drove out into the sun and it was horrible. will add pics later. I have arranged replacement at my VW Dealer. Seems a pattern that I spend money trying to do it myself, then paying others to help, then end up spending lots to replace the whole thing. Dashboard $2,088.00. Installation $660.

Here is the repair and the big difference in the middle section. Like its been heavily filled with a lighter colour spray.

and managed to spray the air vents... Maybe a piece of tape over it would have been nice.

and for reference, here is a photo from the first repairer effort with the big gloss spot in the middle..

I had a some vinyl repair done by an old guy from Capalaba He came to my place to do it and made a very good job. he also filled some holes in a mottled vinyl floor in my van and ended up you could barely tell where he did it.

Think it was the father of the Guy who runs Uticolor at Buderim.

The old fellow had a dark blue Holden ute

He did better than those pics anyway.

You could ring Buderim and ask him 0408 713 327 Trevor Wallis

If it wasnt him it may have been one of the Dauncey guys who are also Uticolor

Thank you Hillbilly. I don't think I can take anymore of anyone saying the can help, paying them, and having it look pretty poor. I thihnk having to strip back all the other paint and clear coat now will ruin it even more. I am wondering about getting it replaced and then if i clean up the old one I might be able to get some money back selling it on ebay maybe? Slightly damaged dash for maybe $400 might sell as any others I could find second hand had the airbags deployed etc.

Well I had the top of drivers door done where I leaned my hand and the whole steering wheel. Also he did the interior panels over the rear wheels and you wouldnt know from original. Would think a really good guy would paint the whole dash and have it look all the same rather than patched As you have found out it doesnt pay to rub it as it makes it worse.
The floor in the van was cream with different shades of brown spots through it He patched the holes and did the cream and then did the different blobs of brown so well I really had to look to see it.
whole lot cost me about $250 Took him about 3 1/2 hours all up.
