Thats a fair bit of oil, hopefully once they have done the oil consumption test you will get a repaired or new engine. If its blowing dark blue smoke thats not good but black smoke is not good also if its diluting the oil causing it to burn off.

@aprr32 have you had any reports on the service dept at the Cardiff dealer?
I know all about oil usage, had a 2.8 Pajero that blew the turbo seals and also a cracked head which put oil out the rocker breather. Fortunately I had bypassed the system into a catch can. Finally found the cracked head when it went at the waterways and poured steam out the exhaust.

Ive not heard any reports about the Cardiff dealer, in my experience some dealers are really good and helpful whilst others don't care about anything but the money.If you jump up and down enough they will likely help out.

Well, Polo goes in tomorrow to get looked at.
High oil usage (3l in under 4200km's) and blue smoke on acceleration and when reversing. Really bad at full throttle and high engine speeds.
