best Dealer in Melbourne for 1st Service

Fast approaching first 7500km service anyone reccomend a dealer, I know to stay away from Camberwell Volkswagen. Apart South Yarra VW have a new facility in Richmond, otherwise thinking Essendon.. Anyone know roughly how much for a Passat TDi?

    thanks

Cant help but was happy with South Yarra (they know how to charge though), they also do a free loan car if you book far enough in advance.

Why dont you want Camberwell (was thinking of there next time)?

The South Yarra new facility is actually Abbostford, over near the extension of Johnston street (near the yarra).

thanks guys for the suggestions, south yarra sounds expensive.

ummm there was a piece on today tonight where one of the mech's took a customers car on a trip to Nando's on the other side of town and crashed her golf, took her ages I believe to get it back.. They denied all responsilibty I think, the mechanic even left the Nando's receipt inside her car with a time and date.

As a side note can anyone confirm if the 1st service is 7500km or 15,000km?

Dont believe everything you see. Especially from crap like Today Tonight and ACA. I know the mechanic personally and know exactly what happened. Inform yourself better rather than just going on info from that ****.

Was the VW tech driving when the accident happened? Can it be proven? If so, he is liable, irrespective of wether she gave consent to use the car or not. Wether or not the dealership is liable is an issue between the mechanic and his employer.

In response to the question in the thread, I would never go to any dealer of any manufacturer. In Melb, Volkspower, Euroclass, Audvolks are all VAG specialists that do a good and fair job. My pick of the 3 would be Volkspower, great service and seem to be pretty honest guys.

South Yarra are a bunch of monkeys. They messed the prep of my new GTI. And many other peoples as well.

They even left the checklist in my car which showed all the boxes nicely ticked. I hope they dont do that with servicing too.

Ive had best experiences with the dealer in glenwaverly. They seem polite and happy to look after you and answer any questions.

thanks Tim, my dealer in Geelong did no prep / delivery check at all as one side of the car was different to the other..

barloworld were very helpful when I first looking around at Passats ie spent about 3 hours there driving diesel, 2.0T and V6 sedans and wagon's so should give them a chance. Suspect they might be cheaper as well..

Anyone got any feedback on Essendon as an alternative?

We need to set up a leaderboard for dealers in each state.

    So far, looks like

    Glen Waverly
    Barloworld
    Camberwell
    Geelong
South Yarra - oh dear, that's where i go and they've been fine!

I goto werribee and they don't seem to bad except they don't believe you when you tell them something isn't right with the car. So if it is just a service and your gearbox isn't about to crap itself then they are quite good. Usually around $300 for service.

    Edit: I can't spell today
