So they run different chassis ? I thought they were the same running gear as the magazine said..
Hehe nice sig there.
I'd go the TTS if it's still in superb condition.

Chassis != running gear. Mind you, these cars don't have a chassis in the strict sense. They do share the same PQ35 platform (along with many other cars, from the Skoda Octavia to the Audi Q3), but it's very flexible and modular, so beyond elements of the floorpan and basic structure, there's not a whole lot that these cars have in common.

I was faced with this exact same dilemma a few months ago. I was in the market for a TT / TT-S and after many many months of searching I ended up putting down a deposit on a new Golf R.
The price difference is just too hard to justify when you're getting 80% of the experience and 150% practicality for almost 50% of the price.
I love the TT shape too and I hadn't even considered the golf R until a friend of mine suggested I have a look and saw the 2 parked side by side at my local VW dealership.
If money wasn't an issue or cost was similar I'd go TT-S any day of the week
Yeah dny. I had a serious look at the TT-S as well when it was announced that the Golf R wouldn't be available in 3 door in Australia. Whilst I loved the TT-S, I too came to the conclusion you have... though I'd put it at 90/150/50 on the %'s
I just had a look at the Audi website (those flash animations are very good btw). About $93k for the TT-S plus on-road costs, which comes to ~$112,000.
I'll probably just stick to buying one in a good racing game I think
don't forget that audi charge out of their ass for options, so to get one with similar options will probably put that closer to 120k
