I suggest just calling different places and talking to them. It's nigh on impossible to put every available option for all the cars. It comes down to the max width of the roll they have - so some cars may be able to have the full bonnet, others not.

On my car, the Ventureshield wraps around the edges of the bonnet so it'd have no issues with high pressure water there, but to be honest, I'm not sure about other panels, simply because no all panels are "removable" or movable for them to wrap the shield around... as the question to the guys (I didn't cause i don't have access to electricity where I wash my car).

I'm almost certain my installer said to stay clear of high pressure hoses in case it lifts the film on the edges.

Does anyone know a good installer in Melbourne that can install it for the entire bonnet (not just the leading edge) along with the usual bumper, side mirrors etc? And does anyone know roughly how much this costs?

Also, does anyone know whether pressure washers can be used to spray areas where Ventureshield has been applied?
I'm a bit late to this thread, but I had my Trakkadu (T5) camper done 4 years ago (James @ Invisible car bras IIR correctly). Full front plus other leading edges and rear bumper (step) protection was $1100, but it's a big bus. He had the special double width film to do the full bonnet. I've been very happy with it. No stone chips (except 1 on windscreen; wouldn't you know) after lots of off-road/ gravel work, often in convoy, and including Melb - Cape Yorke and back. If I ever replace the van, I'll get the sides done as well, for those narrow scratchy bush tracks.

I've also used a pressure washer over most of that period. I'm just careful not to apply full pressure on the edges.

Turns out the lines I had on my bonnet were a roll defect. No problems whatsoever, Tony at Perth Graphics Centre looked at it and replaced the Ventureshield on the bonnet the next day at no cost. Absolutely perfect nick now!!

I use the high pressure hose on the car but take care around the edges, if you want to clean the edge spray it from the film side so you're going away from the edge and keep your distance.

The film will be 3 years old in a week and no signs of lifting anywhere with the film.

Thanks for responses! Judging from the mixed responses, I guess I have to call up an installer and find out! I think I'm trying to get ready for the delivery and trying to occupy myself in the week prior to picking my new baby up!

I rang a few places when I was looking into it and no one in Melbourne would do anything bar the basic setup. Seems nobody down here is capable. I didn't bother in the end. Got a few marks but I'm over it and saved myself the $1000 on clingwrap.

These various car cling wrap products are made out to be the force shield.

Its really just some thick plastic that sticks to your car.

I love the one where *they say if your car was to be grinded on a wall - the panels will **** up but the cling wrap will be fine. Who gives a crap! If my panels are all busted up, i'll need to pay for insurance to fix my car, then have to pay for the cling wrap all over again!

Biggest waste of money in my opinion..

And you have to contnually up keep it? Fail + fail.
