I will have to try the 303 treatment.

My windscreen is totally spotless (no chips, etc.) and contaminant free just as it arrives from the factory - I clean it as per my post #69.

Rain X is great but causes shudder, not all the time, but def now and then. If you want to try to eliminate shudder don't use rain x.
Personally I feel the trade off is well worth it and have used the stuff for years.

I have to disagree - at least to the two cars I have used on before.

When I used RainX on a 1998 Toyota Starlet & 2003 Toyota Corolla, there was no shudder at all and I was using genuine Toyota windscreen rubbers front and back. It really works great at speeds >60km/hr and works real well at highway speeds.

I have the suspicion the Bosch Aeroblade rubber don't like being exposed to the sun for long periods of time. I also had the shudder issue before I used any RainX products on my Golf.

Even better than RainX is Nanolex Glass Sealant, doesn't have the issues of RainX and lasts longer.

Just ordered a pair of the bosch aero wiper blades for the front screen from the following site:

Worked out at $39 AUD for the pair including postage from the UK.

Oh wow, less than 24hours old from delivery, and it is raining in Sydney, and my R wipers are juddering like crazy, I just figured it was new rubber+whatever residue they hadn't cleaned off from the shipping... maybe I am wrong!

I had a look at my wiper blades on Saturday, I have a suspicion it may be possible to dismatle the flexible arm and remove the wiper rubber and replace it with standard section rubber. I'll report back when I've tried to carefully pull it apart.
