As long as the wipers are in Service Mode, it shouldn't be too hard to change right??

The end cap should pop off with a bit of help. There are threads about it on this forum

The wipers probably don't have to be in service mode to remove the blades, but I don't doubt it will be a lot easier if they are.

I haven't searched for that, Brad, but if this has been covered in another thread I'll see if I can find it.

Gahhh mine started shuddering a couple of weeks back.. Gave the blades a good wipe. It stopped for awhile and then yesterday it happened again. Getting really annoying! I'll see if I've got some time to drop by the dealer on the weekend.

Also, I might have missed this, does anyone know what sorta washer fluid I can use for topping up? I sprayed the windscreen (and headlamps) quite a fair bit ever since the wipers started shuddering and I think it might be running low soon.

I just changed my wiper blades with the Bosch ones from that UK website, $50 delivered for both front and rear. Typically it hasn't rained since I put them on

frozze - the sales guy at the VW dealer said don't use any special washer fluid, just water, otherwise it'll clog up the pipe. I've tested this theory (with the original blades) and it hasn't worked out very well, so I'm also looking for the best washer fluid to use.

VW have their own washer fluid. See here

There is a "service mode" (it may be what you are kinda describing above, but you miss out a step). Turn on the ignition (no need to start the car), turn it off, then press the wiper stalk, and they go into their service mode. You can then pull them off the glass as you can with any regular car.
Could I add that if the bonnet is popped, the wipers will not work. This is also a protection measure

I bought a pair of Bosch A980S Aerotwin flat wiper blades from Wiper Blades UK for my MY12 Jetta as a spare but it does not fit!!

I contacted them prior to buying to make sure it'll fit but I guess the Jetta in UK have different blades..

Here's a pic comparison. Bosch on the left and the Jetta's OEM blades on the right.

    I guess just be careful!
