    Cheers for the advice all.
I noticed it on day 2 when it rained. I initially gave it a clay and a polish, but the mark was still there, so I raised it with the Customer Service rep who was dealing with my other defects.

They said that it would be the 'delivery wax' that was not properly removed, and that they had polished it and got rid of the problem.

    Not so.

I'm going to leave it alone for now until we agree on what they are going to do with it. I'm going to push for a new screen as I can't see them being able to rectify it with any level of polishing etc.

So far the relationship has been very amicable, and I'm generally happy with the outcomes, albeit they have taken some time to fix things.

Will keep you posted on the verdict.

I must say, it is a very strange mark. It's certainly from more than just the wipers having been in that position.

I've seen some amazing results to glass with proper glass polish compound via a rotary polisher on headlights. But I'm thinking on a windscreen you'd wanna know what the hell you're doing! I hope it is all resolved soon for you

I've been getting quotations to replace the wiper blade at the 30k service, there are some wild variations, to say the least:

    1) $30.00 for a set of windscreen wipers (VW dealer)
    2) The aero wipers are still only available, genuine only at $44.50 per side. (reputable VAG service garage)
    3) Wiper blades +/- $120.00 On these vehicles you can't change the rubber only, they not designed that way. (VW dealer)

was it chatter/skipping noisy? or did they run smooth?

my new R has skipping blades, most prominently at the lower right of the windscreen i.e. right in front of me. when it rains heavily (as it did yesterday) they seem to run smooth. should i just let it run its course and hope it becomes totally smooth?

I did the "tape trick" which prise has documented in this thread. It has worked somewhat in resolving my skipping on the right wiper. However, with the auto wipers being so eratic on the MK6 and even with them set to the least sensitive setting, them wiping far too much (imo), they can still end up skipping. If it rains hard, I set them to "on" instead of auto, as auto goes way too fast on the least sensitive setting. With heavy rain and "on" they're alright.

When I take my car in for the 1 year service, I'll get them to address this. It's not something I could be bothered to go in specifically for though.

agree, yesterday and today i ended up turning my wipers off a few times cos (as you said) even on the lowest auto setting, they're too enthusiastic.

is this something that the dealer can actually help with though?

I haven't asked myself. But the feedback from others doesn't seem positive...

my dealer told me he could change the settings to make it less sensitive. but it doesnt really rain all that much here anyway so i didnt bother. doesnt bug me that much. but if he claims its possible, i suppose it is. ask your dealer about it

Anyone notice shuddering with the rear wiper with constant use. It will wipe the first few just fine but after maybe the 5-6th one it will start shuddering, anyone have a similar experience?
