    Wheel Alignment Issues

    Hi guys,

I’ve been having issues with my wheel alignment lately. Only noticed this last week but when having to drive straight, I have to point the wheel to the right. If correcting the wheel back to the centre, the car steers quite noticeably to the left. I had a wheel alignment done a couple of days of ago, where they rotated and completed the wheel alignment yet the problem still persists. I even went back yesterday and they swapped the front two tyres with each other as the tyres are asymmetrical, still the problem exists. Anyone know what the issue may be? The car just hit 10000kms

    Cheers guys

Your steering wheel is off centre. Happened to me after getting new tyres and getting alignment from a well known cheap tyre shop in Sydney.

Fixed it by going to a proper Bridgestone shop. I copped the extra $$ but everything was perfect afterwards. They even gave me a print out of the alignment values with the car's tolerance (which I didn't get with the cheapo shop).

You've gone back and they can't fix it. There is no reason why you should keep coming back. Buy tyres from cheap shops but get proper work done by real specialists.

I had my alignment done by a shop with the initials "TT". I hope you didn't get yours done there as well!

Had it done at Bondi Junction Jax... surely they should have done it right the first time, they gave me a printout as well. Do I go back and ask them to make sure the steering wheel is centred, would've thought that is the most basic thing to do when getting a wheel alignment.

TT = Tempe Tyres, i had alignment done with them before. it was hit and miss, but $40 for front and rear alignment is as cheap as you can get.

also had an alignment done at Jax.. they could not do it right with the golf, steering wheel kept off centre.

finally went to a real specialist, Heasmans Suspension. fixed on first visit!

another place that many have given their thumbs up is Spinning Tyres in Waterloo.

if you are in Sydney, those 2 are really the only place you should trust your Mk6 Golf to

Can't remember from the top of my head but I think he said it was an issue with the camber.
