    What was that nasty sound?

So the other day I was driving on the freeway in my R stage 2+ vwr intake and I heard a big noise like something had blown off the part of the engine. I was in 6th gear DSG under full throttle/load overtaking, using some tourque to get past and along came the usual flutter sound from the turbo followed by a nasty noise like an air hose had departed.
Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

I'm assuming you have already inspected the engine bay and checked all the hoses?

Photos? Anything leaking? Any warning lights on the dash? Any subsequent noises or noticeable change to the car?

Might have been a backfire from an ignition coil pack that's on its way out. The coil packs die pretty quickly when you tune these car's - how many km's on the car?

I had to replace my stock coil packs after 13,000km as they were starting to misfire.

Take a part the intake and see if the filter has a hole in it...
