Been against paint protection rip off since moses was a boy. Nothing like a good wax and polish once a year to keep the car in good nick, however first black car so i decided(stupidly) to get it on the car at 1/3 of the cost the dealer originally quoted!, however decided to cancel the paint protection 2 weeks back, dealer didn't pass this onto the delivery guys, they applied, and I managed to get a refund of the paint protection! So Win-Win!

So as I have mentioned I am going to go with the Venturshield and GTechniq clear laquer from Perth Graphic Centre. I emailed the guy today to ask him about the A-Pillars and also a strip across the front of the roof and he said that he would suggest having the GTechniq on for a few weeks prior to the film being put on the roof because if removed it would leave a visible line, but he said he would do the A-pillars FREE OF CHARGE. So that is full front of the car, bonnet, and a pillars for $1000 and then $495 for the GTechniq laquer!! Effin sweet!!

ahh.. pete, your gti must have been the one that i saw the week before last when i was in there speaking to tony (sent it straight to perth graphics centre right as you got it out of the dealer, did you?)![]()
anyway, i had my jetta done last week.. he didn't manage to finish cos with the mkv5 jetta, they didn't seem to have templates for the front, so he had to cut them out by hand, but they're a bit odd so he's going to redo them and also going to do the front pillars which he didn't get around to.
i paid a chunk of moolah ($1800) and had to remove all 4 door handles myself to save around $200 for them to call someone else to come remove them. still, i'm happy with what i've got.. oh, this is what i did for anyone interested:
full bonnet (standard kit only covers half bonnet)
full front side fenders (standard kit only covers front half)
front mirrors (per template, only the front half)
full front bumper
edition 30 front lip (custom)
all 4 doors incl under handles and the handles and wrapped around (so if i open my door and hit the brick wall in my garage, no scratches!)
top of rear bumper just outside the boot
A pillars (custom)
black plastic area behind licence plate mount (custom - i've got the gti grill on my jetta)
painted area just above the left and right grill (custom - apparently the templates are only got the older style where the chrome and paint end flush with the grill, not the newer style where they extend out)
everytime sometime is custom cut, the costs seem to go up.so with the care they've taken and the quality of the workmanship, i'm quite happy to pay that price. pity there's no local comparison to price shop since nobody else does it. haha

Hi guys, I got quoted at $500 including GST for the supply and installation of a bumper with Ventureshield film. If a hood package is also required, (this includes a strip across the front of the bonnet, the two extensions to follow onto the side guards, and also the two wing mirror faces), the price is $750 including GST.
Is this a reasonable price for a 118TSI ?
GOLF MK VI 118TSI - DEEP BLACK - DSG - MDI
The $750 sounds like the standard package and if it includes fitting, is similar to what I got quoted here in WA.
This site in QLD sells it - Duco Scratch Online Store: Golf MK6 MY10- Full Kit, VW Golf Mk5 & Mk6 - for $500 unfitted.
If you ask how long it takes, a few hours, I think you'll find that's about the cost of labour included.
I personally would find that cost reasonable given what I paid for mine. We only have one professional company installing it, so there's not much room for price comparison.

Sounds about right Wugaga as Spiff said there isnt as much competition over here so not as much room to move perhaps. I still think we get a fair deal here though as it's a lot of film and the labour needed to fit it as well.
I had my 118TSI fitted the other week and can't fault it! I got full bumper, both front side quarters, full bonnet, mirrors and A pillars as well as a strip for the boot for about $1k fitted.
