What to do with modified golf?

    Hi Everyone,

Had a question for those who have modified their golf....

I own a 2011 Golf 118 TSI. Since i bought it i have made the following modifications:

    1. Forge Cold Air Intake
    2. Milltek non resonated turbo back exhaust system
    3. CSR side body kit.
    4. Superchips Bluefin ECU remap
    5. Sprint Booster

I am upgrading my car to a 4WD and will be selling my golf above.

Should I remove the mods and return to stock and sell or sell as is? NOTE: The only mod i installed myself was the remap and print booster.

Anyone been in the same situation? Advice? Thanks

Personal opinion.. I would, only because you are limiting your customer base by leaving everything on. And also you can then ebay the rest for recouping the cash you spent on them in the first place as no one will pay more than what the car is worth in its stock form

It really depends on what the cost of removing the parts (and re-installing stock items) vs. what you're going to get for selling the second-hand parts.

Also as SilvrFoxX says you are reducing your potential market by having all the parts on the car. If you leave it "tuned" you'll be competing directly with the Mk6 GTI market. Personally I'd buy a stock GTI vs a tuned 118TSI any day.

    I would

    1. Forge Cold Air Intake - fairly easy to remove and should not cost too much in labour, then and sell separate
    2. Milltek non resonated turbo back exhaust system - easy to remove and should not cost too much in labour, and sell separate
    3. CSR side body kit. leave especially if they leave glue residue when removed
    4. Superchips Bluefin ECU remap - remove, pay Superchips UK to reset and sell separate
    5. Sprint Booster - very easy to remove and sell separate

I too might be interested in the exhaust... (already have the Forge intake ).

So have you decided what you're going to do.

    Hi everyone,

Apologies for the late reply. Seems my brother made me an offer on the car so it will be kept all in one piece!

Ive told him to let the forum know if he plans to sell parts etc.

Thanks a lot for the replies and suggestions!
