The R20 is quoted as 199FWKw on the VW NZ site, whereas the S3 is 195 in NZ, but something happens to the S3 when the ADR label is applied and it ends up with 188Kw hereThe TT-S stays at 200, in both cases

Ok.. well the TT-S' supposed power.
Is the R20 supposed to be exactly the same as the TT-S or more like the facelifted S3 (which is rated lower from factory)?

So the stock 188KW S3 rates better or as well as a stock 200KW TT-S ??
That was what we saw at the Dyno day right?
If the R is 200/199KW like the TT, I guess we're expecting the 188KW S3 to still pull similar numbers?

I didn't think we were getting the 199 like nz, but should retune the same.
All depends on the pricing and discounts, the R isn't worth 20k more than the gti etc.
No real point putting a deposit on one yet IMO.

The numbers appeared all over the place I thought. Larry's TT-S StageII+ fared only as well as the StageI TT-S. There's plenty of discussion about this on OzAudi though I suppose. Just curious as to what the R will actually put down. At a rated 199KW, I'd be expecting it to do just as well as the TT-S stock for stock. I'm not sure of the weight differences though for on road performance.

I love this picture of the R. The bodykit, larger wheels and taillights just give the R a great subtle look.

Yeah I don't get it personally, couldn't care less.
There's your answer. Outside needs to be nice sure, but you spend all your time inside the car so you wanna make sure you pick the right one!
That would be the exact spec I'd settle for.... only if for some far fetched reason I can't have the blue.
I take it you couldn't get your changeover figures to work out![]()
Pretty interesting review, even in the snow and all. I love the LED DRLs on it.
I'm only 26 and it wasn't so long ago I would have been all over the Focus RS, but the R looks so much more capable and mean in a subtle way.
The bit about the Golf GTI at the end makes me happy though. Just don't take it anywhere near the snow.![]()
Blue is the obvious choice and would stand out, but CW would be great too and easy to look after. Anyone know what colours are cofirmed yet?
I haven't really looked into it seriously but just saying the GTI is still a great package and hard to decide on a Golf R before pricing is released etc.I take it you couldn't get your changeover figures to work out![]()
My idea was to downgrade slightly.
