Looks like I'll be buying a new one of these:

*waits for those who know what they're looking at to reply is disbelief*

Gonna have to reduce how often we use all 320 of those torques (for those with Stage 1)

Yes, that black bit shouldn't be visible and should be rock solid. It's like a lose tooth in they atm

Received my Blackvue DR400G-HD II and Power Magic Pro yesterday and hardwired it this morning. All up, only took about half an hour not including the time taking pictures.

Power cable goes up and is tucked into the headliner, down the A pillar (no unbolting needed!), and into the fuse box. I thought about cutting off the cigar lighter plug/socket, but CBFed and jeft left it inside the dash. If it starts rattling while driving, I will do so.

I used fuse 42 for switched power (accessory sockets) and fuse 45 (trailer socket) for constant power. Ground wire is just bolted to one of the fuse box bolts.

The Power Magic Pro is taped to the inside of the cubby hole (which I never use anyways).

Due to the rain sensor, I had to mount the camera underneath it, so it isn't as stealth as I've seen on other cars. Maybe I'll paint it black to make it stand out less.

Also forgot to show off my scuff plates, door pump inserts, rubber floor mats, and rabbit badge (we have two house rabbits, one of which is white).

Looks great if you've got a Candy white GTI!

I hope you have better luck with your carbon fiber mirror covers! I bought mine from the same guy and they only lasted 3 months before they split at the top seam! My mates only lasted 2 months before they split.

So anyone thinking of buying these ebay carbon fiber mirror covers, don't!!

Brendan_A... don't tell me that now!!!!! I guess thats why I put this up.. gives feedback for others out there.

I hope mine don't split. Where abouts do you mean it splits at the seam? Also, do you park your car outside in heat often? Wonder if there is anything I can do to potentially prevent them splitting.

In your bottom right photo you can see the top edge where it steps down to the black plastic housing? Well that top edge/seam is letting go.

My car has hardly been driven in the last 3 months and is undercover , but my mates car is parked in the sun while he is at work. That's why i guess his only lasted 2 months. I'm in the process of getting my original mirror covers painted gloss black.

What are the chances of that!!!!!! The mirror caps have been on my car for 5 days now, so after reading your post this morning I went to check my car as it was parked in the heat. It was fine. THEN when I got home after work I checked them again and guess what - they split!!! It was melbourne's first hot day in a while.

Did you ask for a refund or let the seller know? I'm thinking 5 days in from the sale he should refund me. Otherwise I'll be kicking up a stink through eBay Disputes!

Sorry to hear mate. Can't believe they only lasted 5 days!! Very poor quality.

I emailed him yesterday asking for a refund and no reply yet. I don't think he will reply, my mate emailed him over a week ago and still nothing!

I should have resprayed the mirror covers black in the first place. Would have saved a lot of money. I picked them up from the paint shop this arvo and they look great.

Have you given the seller feedback yet??

that sucks. ive had similar negative ebay experiences with cf mirror covers. jc sportline were the ones i bought, first pair were terrible quality so they resent another set, and i gave the **** ones away.
i installed the second set and after 2 weeks of rain, they got waterlogged and started bubbling up like a cardboard box. i sent them back and they refunded my money
i then did it properly and bought the osir cf covers. its true what they say, do it the right way first time and u can save time and money.
been at least 16 months with the osir and not one issue
