    $267!?

You'd sure expect them to be fitted for free, since I bought them off eBay the other week for $88 + shipping (roughly $105 all up) and fitted them myself pretty easily. http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...tml#post747382

    Sorry

It's fine to leave the oil change to 15,000km increments.

Yeah I know Ryan!!! But I was sort of expecting the $250 mark and was also expecting (had been quoted $130) an install fee so I had budgeted the $380 which I KNOW is expensive, but, ****, I just love the car, so spending on it is no biggie (whilst I wait for my Rolling Stones Super Deluxe Some Girls Box to be available in AUS for $180 I had the xtra cash - THAT item I might have to get from Amazon UK - I just prefer to provide sales to local sellers etc)......I dont have ebay account, gunshy about paypal I guess.

There is a whole thread on that.. I have done mine and the filters, it is a specialized oil so if you do decide to do it make sure you use VW recommended. Just don't mention it to the service guys when you put it in for 12 months

Yeah of course, no problem Rod. I reckon you'll love the car even more with a little ECU software upgrade, but might be better to wait for the 'high' to wear off a bit more first before you go for it (although December is usually when APR have their specials on).

Got just about all my retrofits from eBay/Paypal, no probs. Waiting for the Reversing camera to be shipped here for me to have fun trying to install it.

Yeah, went into WA distributor of APR Stage1 a week ago, he tested my ECU - it came up with a code of 17.5.5 which they cannot do as yet.

Probably quarter 1 next year. Told me they have a mid year sale on as well so advised me to wait. He has my number!

Let me know how you go with that RVC - I am interested in that too, having just fitted the audio rear sensors as a bit of 'insurance' against the odd self-help the DSG gives when you engage reverse. As I back in to a dark, tight spot every day at work I wanted some form of protection - the way that reverse is engaged is a little disconcerting first up, though I am used to it now, I DID want at least the audible advice!!

There's already a thread in here for the RVC with about 3 or 4 different guides, so feel free to have a look. ECS brought out a new kit so you don't have to build your own loom, which got me over the line of hesitancy.

Bear in mind a carbon fibre bonnet is likely to be illegal unless it's been tested to comply with pedestrian impact laws.
