Does the Bluefin re-program your ecu when you plug it in your interface or do you have to run around with it dangling from the port. I presume the latter otherwise we would only need to buy one and do all our cars!
Thanks DDTW, looks good.
Who else is keen? Let's all throw in $10 and get one!
lol... yeah, the device is "attached to your car" once you use it.
To "transfer" it to another car, you need to pay a fee or something (and very likely first also put the stock tune back on).
The company wouldn't exist if you could just buy the device once, and then hand it to all your mates with the same car/ECU
Ordered and coming soon
the factory ECU map will be copied to the device.. so i don't think using the device on several other GTIs would be a good idea, as if it will work anyway,
you want to keep your own factory ecu map for just in case.

@nat At least you don't have to go back to the workshop if a dealer service resets your ECU
I believe this only happens if they have to do major work to a tune. ie something has gone wrong and you ask them to sort it out.
I believe they don't touch the ecu tune parameters when doing scheduled servicing.
Of Course a service technician is free to dissagree if this isn't the case.

If there's a software update for all cars (i.e. that old 118 TSI service campaign) that would overwrite it I think. Probably won't happen but you never know.
