I bought one of these for my 118TSI:
VW Golf 5 & 6 GTi/Scirocco DSG multi-function Steering wheel
Identical to my steering wheel (no GTI badge, etc) besides the sporty flat bottom, silver trim behind the MDI controls, and the paddle shifters.
Only cost me ~$650AUD (currently on special) and I plan on selling the extra airbag for at least $250. So much for a ~$2000 pipe-dream upgrade.
aussietig has some installation instructions here:

I'll play it safe and get a friend who works on VW's to give us a hand, and then it's just a number that needs changing in VCDS to enable the paddles.
Most wheel's should suit most cars if they're built around the same time/same model/MK. But always better to check explicitly.
Rather than get nasty footwell LED's I did my usual trick of painting the covers in a red waterbased paint and setting output to 80% in the MFD. Matches the rest of the red mood lighting now.
Straightened up the rear plate and getting covers today
Added OEM "R Line" badges to seat adjustment inserts and OEM R badge to engine cover.
Enough bling.

Scratched up the brush metal insert drivers side door panel. Very small mark but pissed off, wonder if Dealer can replace it without asking for a leg

You have to remove the airbag to remove the wheel, so I've kept the airbags with their respective wheels (so I have the airbag that came with that new wheel).
Removing the clips is a pain, (hard to see, hard to get to, requires a fair bit of strength to remove the clips). I would defo recommend making this a 2-person job. Because the clips on my wheel were different to what we were familiar with, that took us quite a while. Once we knew which way to push the clip, however, it turned out to be a much easier system than the other one. I think by the time we finished 2 hours passed, but it shouldn't really take more than 20 minutes if you know what you're doing.
DSG is working great.
