Hahah.. Yes I ordered the genuine VW liner. Hopefully it's decent.

It is almost colour perfect with the boot Grey, it was way too big but is designed to be cut to shape. I had it in my Subaru Liberty but cut it down for the Golf R.
Mate, is this the one? Looks like when you cut all the "universal" parts off it's the perfect fit!

Yep thats the one.. it is huge and you cut it down, it is not perfect but damn close and for the coin impossible to beat. It is thick rubber with the stamped metal look.. recommend it highly

Here's the pics of the liner I got.. Took SilvrFoxX's advice and picked up a customisable after-market one.. $20 from AutoBarn.. Massive saving over the OEM one

You can cut a small hole to get the rubber handle through:

..So when you need access to your spare tyre & tools, the liner comes up with the carpet:

As SilvrFoxX mentioned, the liner comes in a big square. You simply remove the original carpet and cut around the rubber:

Great for any car really.. It allows you to make any shape you need:

The rubber itself is not that thick, however for what I need it to do (protect the carpet) it's great:

Yeah.... Well as long as it protects the carpet, I'm happy. It's not like I'm constantly looking at it..

If the 3M stone guard film turns yellow, will this be replaced under warranty by the manufacturer? I'm concerned as I am getting a white
car, but don't really want the front end to be a shade of yellow within a couple of years, although it may be better than a peppered look.

Thats a fact.. it just has to protect the boot area.. looks fine captain and for the coin it cant be beat. The supercheap item is quite thick rubber and probably wouldn't be as flexible as the one you have
