It is a bit of a pain to fit but luckily someone on another forum has recently done the emblem swap so he was able to give a heads up of what to expect.
You have to first remove the front grill to access the rear of the OEM emblem.
Once the grill is off you will notice that VW actually melt 2 of the 3 clips of the back of the emblem to hold it in. I had to use a soldering iron to carefully re melt the plastic to get it out. This part can be a bit time consuming as you don't want to damage the grill itself. Once you have released the 2 clips you just turn the badge anti clockwise to remove the final clip.
Install the new emblem and make sure it's sitting flush then turn clockwise to lock into place. I then used some silicon on 2 of the rear clips to hold the emblem securely in place.

You'd probably be better asking one of the people who've installed their own RVC
