I didn't cut one wire, it wasn't too bad apart from those metal clips used everywhere which can hold some of those plastic bits in awfully tight! Apart from scratching up the hands a bit trying to feed wires through things, it was all fairly painless. The kit from carsystems.pl comes with everything, the loom (I earthed the loom to the rear reverse/brake assembly, took power to the front right drivers side fuse box), the drain tube, a connector to couple the trigger to the reverse cable. All I did was electrical taped the loom to various places to avoid vibration (and those silly metal clips!), used a very thick gauge wire to assist pulling the loom (well, 1 power cable) and in the opposite direction, the coax from the head unit, through some of the tight spots (e.g. up behind the rear air-bag through the rubber joiner between hatch and main body)...
My main fear was the stereo cowl breaking, I had some serious flex on that thing trying to clip it out (had a plastic piece under it to help lift it without scratching, and then my fingers and brute force).

Is that a mod to? would hate to go back on my word as I have never done that before

Well my definition is anything to do with engine or suspension related to tuning, everything else is cosmetic. I mean I hardly consider window tinting and weather shields as mods

So a modification is only that if it is a performance modification, OK
Insurance companies see it differently ... no big deal. Everyone has a different meaning of what a modification of factory is.
Some only see a modification as something you do yourself as opposed to getting someone else to do all the work.
You asked for my definition from a forum perspective.. not getting into the clinical definition by twerps in the insurance industry who make it up as they go along and all different so it is not really a baseline.
I like your last definition, at least if I get someone else to do it I have kept my word
