I took it to the dealer, and a technician tried it. He could hear the ticking instantly, and we also noticed a metal sound when driving over bumps.
He could confirm something was wrong, and 30 minutes later he showed me a print from VW (he also said this shouldn't be shown to the public..) with a known problem regards to the ticking sound, and apparently it was caused by the DSG. The error code (fault) was 2026473/2. Anyone have any information abount this fault code? Could a firmware upgrade fix this, or is it a mechanical problem?
Bulletin 2026473/2 is October 2011. So its missing if you have the noises. Reprogramming of the DSG ECU is required to recognise rough roads like cobbled surfaces. Results in quicker gear changes so on rough roads the rattle/clatter is less and no clutch adaption happens . Owners usually confuse this update with the effects of 37G7 campaign, it just gets loaded when 37G7 is done because the latest firmware also has previous updates such as 2026473/2.
There are no warrenty instructions as its regarded as normal. No instructions to update the DSG ECU separately for 2026473/2.
