Have traded the Mk V and been driving the wonderful Mk VI GTI for 2 weeks now and all of the warning lights have started coming up on the right clock for 10 secs or so and then disappearing whilst I am driving. As happens when you first start the car and they check all systems and then go out after 5secs or so. The Yellow power steering fault light is coming up at the same time in the left clock but stays on for about 20 secs after the others have gone out. Nothing in the car felt different, had it hooked up to the dealer computer who told me the ABS sensor was playing up! Didn't happen again until tonight. Was driving with the cruise control on and all lights came on again but this time when the lights flicked on I could feel a very slight but noticeable surge in the throttle but no increase in speed and then a corresponding drop in throttle, again with no speed change. And the left yellow power steering warning light again stayed on for 30 secs longer than the others. I already have the car booked in at the dealer on Wed so they can figure it out. It is concerning but after turning the car off and back on again all of the lights go out after the normal time. It would suggest that it is a software problem if it clears itself but tonight I was a bit more worried!!
For the record I have ACC and it is working normally, firming up the steering in Sports mode. This weighting doesn't change when all of the lights come on and off. Have searched through the forum site and couldn't find anyone with similar problems. I also have a very annoying over sensitive single sweep of the wipers when in auto wiper mode and this I have read about. And yes I have adjusted the sensitivity and am used to my Mk V which didn't do the same thing. They can fix that as well, enough of that will scratch my windscreen and wear out the wiper blades (less important!).
I would appreciate any feedback!
