Actually it's a case of the service department following the same stupid water restrictions that everyone has to abide by and I doubt it has anything to do with being lazy.

This is not a thread regarding whether or not there is a 1000km service for the golf. I was provided with a free 1000km checkup service including checks of oil levels, battery terminals, water levels etc. This is provided with all Golfs from Austral Volkswagen at Stafford in QLD.

I created the thread regarding the fact I did not receive a car wash as promised. I did not create this thread to debate whether or not the 1000km service is required.

I am very pleased to hear though that I received this extra service free and it is not a standard service provided by all Volkswagen detailers. Thumbs up Austral!

I was not aware mate as i fitted my property with a water tank

Thank you all for your comments. Sounds like they just had to follow the stupid water regulations in SEQ.

Interestingly the girl at the desk said they upgraded the cars flash. I have not noticed any difference, maybe it just removed some of the bugs in the previous car management system. My car was a May build.

If it was promised why didn't you say something when you picked the car up rather than complain on here?

I did complain and they said it could not be done due to water restrictions. I posted it on here to see if anyone else experienced the same issue.

Sorry mate, did you mean AUSTRAL at NEWSTEAD or NORRIS MOTOR GROUP at KEDRON.
Dont want to be directing praise to the wrong dealer.

The first service is at 15,000km but it's recommended by VW to do the oil change at 7500km (although this is on the R32). Which I just did today with the dealer although it's not free. I think changing your oil after the first few thousand kms is a good idea since the engine running in will have more shards and deposits in its oil from the pistons bedding in and whatnot so changing the oil will give it a fresh film of lubrication.

It's not recommend by VW to change the oil at 7500km for any MK6. Again, this thread is not about that - please take that dicussion to one of the other 500 threads on that topic

I'm editing the name of this thread to be more descriptive about what this is about.
