did u ask the owner why this Rocco without ACC as it should be standard on Aus spec?
MY12 Golf R (In garage now) RB--DSG--5DR--ACC--19 Talladega (blk)--Sunroof--Leather--MID--Bluetooth
items in hand: Millteck TBE, WedsSport 19" rim, S3 intercooler, ITG intake and more
Which owner would that have been? VWA?
I am interested as to what questions you would have asked that the "owner" would have been able to answer?
And that you haven't posted the info you received in here?
I am sure if you have any other questions about the Scirocco that AP would be able to answer them with a more authority than someone professing to be the owner of a VWA import which will no doubt be used for ADR certification and pre-release Press demo's.
What is your problem dude?
He said he was the owner of the car! I wasnt going to argue with him if it was or wasnt his car.
He knew a hell of a lot about the car and the VW range.
FYI, I was asking about what type of diff is in the Scirocco and if it was the same that is used in the MK6 GTI.
1998 N15 Pulsar SSS with GTi-R Conversion 235.4kw at the front wheels
1997 R33 GTR 347.5kw at all wheels
2009 MKV GTI *Candy White *Sunroof *Anthracite Leather *Tint *6 speed manual *5 Door *R32 Tail Lights *O-SIR O-Rest *OEM Sharan Rubber Antenna Replica
There are private imports of the Rocco so it might not be VWA's car on the stand
MkVI Golf GTI | Candy White | DSG | Leather | Bi-xenon | Sunroof | Dynaudio | Park Assist | MDI | Tint | FINALLY RECEIVED!!
Dude... ( I really hate that terminology ) stop and think about it....do you really think that VWA would have a "Private Import" as their "star" of the show??? Come on...VWA have been advertising since they first announced the Scirocco that it would be at the Motor Show... it was no last minute thing...
How do you know he knew "a hell of a lot about the car and the VW Range"? Did he confrim or deny the diff question?
You could have put any number of people from this Forum on that stand and I guarantee you they would have known as much or more than anyone that VWA had there...
At the end of the day though...who really cares...I have made up my mind and the sooner I can place an order the better... regardless of what diff it has.
Any care to give me an idea on resale value on a non optioned rocco in three yrs time? Just realised a two door R32 with leathers and sat nav dropped by $30k in 4 yrs. Am I missing something?
It was not a last minute thing, however going by overseas wait times of 12 months+ for this car, VWA may have asked a lllocal importer and even VW New Zealand for a car to borrow to display.
Nissan Australia had to ask people who were importing the GTR from Japan to show it off at the Melbourne Motorshow a few years back, because they simply could not get one to display.
So its entirely likely that VWA are in the same boat.
What really scares me is this:
- VW Golf GTI = 6months+ wait
- VW Golf R = 6 months+ wait
- VW Polo = 6 month wait
- VW Polo GTI = OVER 1 YEAR WAIT! (there are people being told they need to wait until October 2012!!!!!)
I pray to God that this does not happen with the Scirocco...
To be fair the GTI and R are more expensive then the Polo GTI, therefore the less wait time as less people can afford them? Im hoping the same applies for the Scirocco, because I cant stand waiting 12 months for this, it would eat me up on the inside.
