Hey guys, just read the Scirocco is going to be released here with 195kw. Is this Euro spec power and they are speculating on the aussie release spec being the same? If Golf R has to be detuned for Australian conditions does that mean the Scirocco has larger intercooler fitted or something?

Contrary to what any motoring publication has said, there has not been any official release from Volkswagen Group Australia on the release of the Scirocco. So whilst Anke Koeckler has said at a VGA function that the Scirocco is coming, that is ALL that has been said. Everything else is speculation. All these motoring press are simply speculating on price and specifications...

Wouldn't be surprised if the rocco came with 195kw and they fed us another b/s line. Not that it makes much of a diff. Does anyone still have a stock R lol?

Been following that one as well as it has the potential to be the first thing since the S15 to be light, rwd and some power. But knowing Toyota, they'll **** it up and make it a hairdressers delight. And the Suby version won't fit in with the local lineup if it stays RWD due to their symetrical b/s marketing

Forgive the appalling quality of the picture below, but a friend took this photo today at a shopping centre car park here in Newcastle. I can only assume that this is an import available from places like Scuderia Imports - news

For $79,990 ill keep my Golf R and $25,000 in my pocket thanks and enjoy essentially the same car but with added practicality.

Hmmm can't make up my mind whether it is ugly or good looking! Some of it's lines are nice but at a different angle it's not so nice. Might be something that may grow on me. Certainly not wishing I waited for one, that's for sure.

That is, of course, not an R - just the "regular" TSI. The colour alone is enough to induce an epileptic fit IMO.

That pricing was based on importing from NZ Dealer, freight, local compliance and profit.... When it is available locally from VW dealers it should be line ball with R 3 Door and that will be well short of the $80K mark.

I was going to get down to Melbourne to see it in the flesh but I think I will go see my freindly dealer in a couple of weeks to talk about Pre-Ordering a Candy White one.....12 months will be about the right timing for me.
