VW Scirocco for Australia. Any Golf R buyers thinking of swapping?

I've only asked VW marketing about Scirocco R delivery a couple of times and the consistent response has been early 2012. This was repeated by Anke Koeckler in her motor show address on Friday morning as well.

I know.....yet several of the people on the Motor Show said they had been advised prior to the Motor Show it was October...
Obviously Wheels has been told that as well. It might be the "official release" with pricing etc is in October and delivery of initial Dealer Stock is early 2012.. I remember March being mentioned..I guess we will eventually find out...

Just to clear a few things up. The Scirocco R front diff employs VW's electronically controlled XDS technology, which is also found in the Mk6 Golf GTI/GTD.

However the thing that is interesting about the Scirocco is that it shares the same rear axle as the VW Passat making it wider than the Golf and therefore giving it a lower centre of gravity.

Awesome. I was trying to figure y it would be a better drive seeing it's effectively the golf platform.
