VW Scirocco for Australia. Any Golf R buyers thinking of swapping?

Wouldn't be surprised if the rocco came with 195kw and they fed us another b/s line. Not that it makes much of a diff. Does anyone still have a stock R lol?


Been following that one as well as it has the potential to be the first thing since the S15 to be light, rwd and some power. But knowing Toyota, they'll **** it up and make it a hairdressers delight. And the Suby version won't fit in with the local lineup if it stays RWD due to their symetrical b/s marketing

I read somewhere that the Rocco will come with 188kw, same as the Golf R?

And I believe Subaru will be bringing their version of the FT86 here, read from Carsguide if I remember correctly.

Is it true that the Golf R is actually more expensive overseas than the Scirocco R in england or maybe some other foreig country?

I'd be very surprised if we got a different story here, but then again anything is possible in Australia when it comes to pricing!

Anke has said that it'll be here. That part is correct. From then on, the entire article is just speculation and guessing based on what the Scirocco is overseas, and what the Golf R is here. Keep looking at different motoring publications and see what I mean.

the scirocco pioneered a lot of features seen on the mk6 gti. Are you suggesting the mk6 should be taken off the market cos its too out dated?

That doesn't change the fact that it is built on MkV platform with a MkV interior. Oh, and that is 4 years late getting here.

the dash has more in common with the mk6 than the mk5. The rest of the interior is unique to the scirocco.
But you could say the same of the mk6 anyways... What is insulting is that they havent offered it before, not that they are offering it now.

But yeah you get my point.. It has more in common with the mk6 than the mk5. And the mk6 is a current model.
