You can PM me if you don't want to distract this thread.

Or start a thread over in the driveline area. I'm always keen to learn more about these things as I don't have any background from previous car ownership.

A UK dealer has confirmed from an internal VW comms that the Scirocco Mk4 will be 2012 on MQB matrix design. Golf Mk7 now delayed as Mk6 is too popular.

That makes the Mk4 Scirocco ahead of the Golf Mk7 by two years on the new MQB matrix design if it is a direct launch date exchange. ie. New Scirocco Mk4 - August 2012 and the Golf 7 in 2014 but there are other models migrating to the MQB matrix design, so they may re-order the releases 2012 - 2014 with the Tiguan, Touran and Golf 7 Cabriolet.

And the Scirocco R. The waiting time in the UK is really bad. People are dropping their orders due to waiting 6 to 12 months with no real promise of delivery being given or if given it keeps going backwards, and hire cars being offered to cover the interim.

    My sentiments exactly.
A perfect example of "does my bum look big in this?"
