Sorry, not when it comes to cars.

Any model from any marque are susceptible to defects and faults at any time - from bargain basement hatchbacks to expensive supercars.

EDIT - not to say it invalidates your problems though.

Depends how you define problem. And your threshold for reasonable expectation. I don't doubt that rattles and squeaks may be annoying, disappointing even. But hardly enough reason to dis the brand of vehicle on a public forum over them is it?
Seems to me that some people's expectations are a long way above reality.

Not having a go at you personally, please understand. I just think your original post was much ado about nothing.

I seriously think that people nowadays have over entitlement issues. It must just be me, but I tend to shrug off a lot of life's petty crap that gets thrown at me because if I dwell on it too much then I would be a bigger ******* than I already am,
My gti suffered the whistle, dealer had it a day for diagnosis, then I had to rebook for their first solution which wasn't the water pumP but another part, whistle was still there do the rebooked another day for the water pumP, which if they listened to me, I would only been out 1 day rather than 3.
I have a squeaky driver door, fixed with dry line. I have a squeaky passenger window/door. I fixed if by opening the passenger window a slight crack, just a tap and the noise goes away.
I often drive with no music on at all, and none of the "noises" the car makes bothers me. In fact, the road noise and wind noise is probably louder.
I installed the ops aftermarket and went thru a whole month of trial and error to get it to work. My car was at the workshop getting it sorted, I was annoyed that I couldn't drive it but I dealt with it. And now that I look back, it's nothing, a distant memory.
I cracked and bent a rim on crappy sydney roads, I was pissed at the council and even wrote them a letter, but it got me no where, I fixed the rim and put it behind me and moved on.
Perhaps some people should do the same

I do recall having seen this before on the forums, and had a quick search but didn't immediately find anything. I suggest you post your observation in the VW Car Audio and Electronics forum, and someone should be able to help you.

I had my fair shares of problems
First was the light switch - fixed
then the water pump - fixed
and then the wastegate rattle which is not completely gone after fitting the clip
and some other small rattles which i blame the the road

Coming from many Japanese made and the last one being Lexus
I must admit that i was losing my confidence fast

But when i sat behind the wheel and put my foot into the pedal
    EVERTHING is forgiven

This is a true love hate relationship
