If you do go with your heart and get one now, then I strongly recommend a TDI. It sounds like your location (what is this place called?) may not have much/any premium unleaded required for TSI engines, and it will be obscenely expensive out there. Diesel on the other hand I believe has a tax break for rural/remote areas and is very widely used in these locations, ensuring good quality fuel as the bowser is always ticking over.

Go the diesel, they really excel with fuel consumption in those remote areas, plus you'll have to visit the servo less often. Plus you'd really enjoy the long drive into Perth for the day to get the car serviced![]()
