As if we needed any confirmation...
This'll make them all that more mainstream that ownership will no longer be as alternative (and attractive) as it once was/currently is.... I love that about VW.. it's still considered a rather 'alternative' choice.
Time to buy a Lotus I'm thinking.....!
read the comments at the bottom....
*hehehe*
I had to add one of my own....
To be honest I dont think it will go that far, whilst the car will become more popular or on the radar of you main stream customer given that it is a small car and isnt all that cheap I dont think it will become all that common. I think you'll find a number of the lower end models will become slightly more common in the market, however the top end models will continue to be bought at the current levels with a very small and probably not noticable increase.
The GTI specifically I think wont be picked up due to the price and feel, the majority of your main stream buyers of this type of car arent after the refinement or feel of the car, they want the WRX, XR5 or MPS jap type wow factor.
And anyway a few more people running around in VWs will hopefully mean a few more people for a GTGs and forum.
