Golf and Golf Wagon (along with Tiguan and Passat CC) have a new mute function for OPS/RVC display.

A question I had that was removed in the clean up: From the images on your site, this is not an extra physical button but an icon on the touch screen of the RNS/RCD. Is this a feature that might be made available in a firmware update to existing RNS/RCD systems?

So can anyone confirm that there is definitly a change of the DSG shifter in line with the GTI type for the the entire 2011 Golf model range

Firmware.

And no it won't be available from VW dealers for older units but they are easy to find (when it comes out)

Great news, thanks Maverick. This is the only 11.5 feature I am interested in as I don't want the OPS beeping away if I have sleeping kids in the car (and yes, I am aware there is a volume control, but a one touch mute is a nice to have).

I wonder how much would it cost to retrofit them....$3k? If only the LED strip could be added onto current Xenon housings.

That is indeed the cornering fog light function I believe.

I can't say I'm a fan - personally I think the R's separate LED strip looks neater and, ironically, less of an afterthought - despite it being a separate item.

Will reserve judgement until I've seen them in the flesh though.

I like the new integrated set up. But only If the R got new lower set foggies in addition. The two led strips on the R together would look crap. But it isn't happening so no need to worry.
