    VCDS Adjusting Steering Torque GTI

Ok guys so I have just recently bought a new GTI Golf and have been driving it around the last few day. Went up the coast on the weekend and a few times to and from work. Having previously driven a Polo Gti I noticed the steering feel and weight on the Golf is a lot heavier. With VCD cables on the Polo I managed to change the settings to the SEAT option, which is a lot heavier feel.
I was wondering is there a way to change the settings on the Golf, I've ventured around a couple threads but nothing firm?

Weird thing is that in Polo it was light and in the Golf it's to heavier I want to adjust it to a much lighter feeling turning circle.

I looked here but wasn't sure if it's the same thing I'm talking about

I may be wrong here but I think with the Golf GTI and vRS, the default setting for the XDS is strong. On the Polo GTI I think the default is weak. So on the Golf you don't generally want to change it.

I believe Bassik is talking about the weighty feeling of the steering wheel, not the XDS setting?
Likely due to the larger/wider/heavier wheels

Thats traction control, he's talking about the steering feel which is adjustable via VCDS in the Polo and I think it'll be in the mk7 Golf GTI, if not the normal Golf 7

The Polo GTI's wheel is the Mk6 GTI's wheel, same part no and all. VCDS will tell you whether or not there are settings for it as the Golf has a 16 - steering module just like the Polo

Edit: My bad team_v meant the wheels not the steering wheel.

Yeah that's right I'm talking about the steering feel. The weight is much heavier on the Golf I mean I understand but to compensate can I adjust it to a lighter feel, like I could do the opposite with the Polo?

    Light weight wheels?
You would be surprised at just how heavy the oem ones are.

You have to consider the scenario that you have upgraded from 17 x 7 on the polo to 18 x 8 or 19 x 8 wheels on the golf so it will feel a bit heavier for that as well.

I don't believe there is an option to "adjust steering weight feel" in the VCDS

Yeah I figured that would be the case I just assumed that if it was on the Polo it might be on the Golf weird that it isn't. Would checking tire pressure help, I noticed the front were a tad flat?

    Thanks

    This is another option.
Put them up to 38PSI or so given that you have a heavier engine up front now.
