Unmarked Police Golfs in QLD??

I read in the latest MOTOR magazine, that apparantly the QLD police use unmarked Golf GTI's in their fleet of highway patrol cars.

Anyone ever seen one?

I wonder if they are just 'standard', or have been modded or chipped?

Seen one with someone pulled over in the highway near North Lakes.

True, will not be seen on Mythbusters lol I saw one on the M1 over the Christmas break.
I walk past the police parking in Charlotte Street every weekday and see the unmarked cars at the arcade where the police like to have coffee. I usually take a photo of any new or interesting unmarked cars as i am passing.
I will keep an eye out!

I've seen one in Ascot some time ago. I think it was black. He was having a field day! Lots of 40 & 50 areas and there are a lot of traffic calming features as a lot of people try to short cut through the area.

i have seen a dark grey one sometime ago while on the bike at tamborine mountain. it had a tripod set up on the back seat to film people; so watch out for that as a bit of a give away!

They have a silver Jetta and a black Golf GTI that I know of.
Don't think they are modified as it is hard enough trying to get fleet cars fitted with anything (bull bar etc)

I just replaced the clutch pack in a black police GTI at the dealership a week or so ago. They were even nice enough to leave the rego plates on the car!

I'm so used to giving it a squirt around other VW's that look modified. There goes all that fun.

Have seen a silver jetta, silver GTI and black GTI. All within the last few months.

You really have to behave these days, you never know what they'll be in. Have also seen SS utes, lancer ralliart, and heaps of others.

If cops were paid about $50k a year more, I would be one. I always wanted to be a cop.
