Underseat drawers

Hi all

I know there is an accessories thread, where I found these. What I want to know is if anyone **in Australia** has ordered these from the US and confirmed that they do indeed fit. The guys at ECS are telling me they don't fit in Australian cars.

For clarity mine is a Mk6 GTI 5dr, Jan 2011 build

Volkswagen Golf VI 2.0T > Interior > View All > ES#2083282 Seat Tray Kit - Titanium Black - 1K0898602

OR

Storage - Seat Drawer [1K0882602] - $105.00 : OEMplus.com, Original Equipment

Doing a search on the word "drawers" in the MK6 forum with results of posts gives you PLENTY of results....

Corey_R - Thanks, but I have done that. Most of the posts are people asking about them. The only ones that have been fitted are OEM - one guy said he bought them from a dealer, one is from a guy that got his from the factory in his R, and the other links are people that bougt them in the US and fitted to US cars (as far as I can tell anyway).

Hence my specific question about buying from the US and fitting in Australia. If you know of a post that has that answer I would be happy to be corrected

kevvie, the links you provided to ECS Tuning and OEM Plus are for the "OEM" (Volkswagen manufactured) drawers, the same ones that people buy from the dealers. The link I provided you was someone saying that he fitted those same drawers....

so unless I'm missing something, your question is answered!

Thanks again...I am puzzled as to why the ECS guy would say that they only fit US cars. I had asked a local dealer to get me some GTI mats based on a part number I got from ECS, he said he could get them no problem and was going to order...until I realised that the mats were a different shape for US cars. So I may be paranoid, but wondering if they can have the same part number but actually be different in different markets (eg if there was a suffix that they don't list). I know for seats it should be pretty safe though..

Thanks, will be interested to see how you go. BTW, did you get anthacite or titan black? Do you know what coulour the GTI mk6 interior is (white exterior on mine)?

Yes, you need to be careful when ordering things from the USA due to differences in LHD vs RHD, therefore floor mats won't work.
However, the drawers do work. It's just that they're the opposite way. So if you want a driver side drawer, you need to order the passenger side from the USA, and vice versa.

I ordered Anthacite to match MKV leather. Can't help you with your color. I have found TM Tuning very good to deal with and as you can see, price is right. Their freight costs are far cheaper than some others eg OEM PLUS. I should receive them next week, hopefully, will be OK.
