Compromise pressure that tries to please the ride engineer, the NVH Engineer, fuel econonomy engineer, tyre suppliers, people that drive on cobblestones, people with bad backs, etc.
If you like 35psi then stick with it. I've run anywhere between 36-42psi for 20+ years in my cars depending on what felt right. The sky hasn't fallen in yet.
