Just took the car for a spin and for once didn't have the radio or ipod blaring and had the windows down to hear the intake drowning away and it appears the squeak is back once again .

Rang the dealer and have it booked in to be inspected next week, so hoping A) get the new pump and B) hoping I don't have to make a habit of this ever 7000km!!

Had the new revised pump / clutch fitted today and all is good. Hope it lasts!
Maybe illusionary, but I perceived a marked improvement in bottom end torque. This had been annoying me for a while as I felt the car was bogging down on takeoff. After getting home I looked at the service docket which stated the supercharger clutch had been slipping!
Maybe the slipping clutch wasn't allowing full boost from the supercharger at the bottom end. ie from standing start.
Then again maybe I'm dreaming Lack of "chirp" was enjoyable

Can anyone else confirm a fix? I was told that there was a fix by Austral here in Brisbane awhile back, but when I sent my car in they said it was not available.

I was told by Wangara VW when they were booking my car in for the clutch pack replacement that there was a new bulletin about it.. but this seems to be not true...I want my waterpump replaced again if thats the case as it did solve the problem for about 10,000kms.

Interesting with the conflicting reports from different dealers. Only know that my mechanic stated that this was a new / revised design pump / clutch. Who knows?

    Me too.
    Our 2009 TSI has had:
    New engine
    Clutch
    Alternator Battery
    ECU

And is now back there again, with the no accerating issue. At least this time we were over 100km away when it failed, so we get a car and accomodation!

Makes me feel lucky that so far I only need to replace the water pump (for the second time) and also booked in for the clutch pack.... but there is this weird ticking/clicking that is hell loud when I put my foot down on the fwy :/

I thought I should add to the thread with some positive news, if not a solution. My car doesn't have the squeak.
I only bought it a while back and haven't found any problems yet apart from a few rattles that will be going on my list. Hopefully it's not just a matter of time before it starts, but the car has 30k on the clock and I can't find any service logs that hint towards a repair.
At the end of the day I'm really keen to find any faults before the warranty runs out.

Can anyone tell me if I should be looking for a sticker or something to show that the parts have been replaced?

All I got was a invoice saying what parts had been used to replace the waterpump.. Its not a recall so no sticker as far as I know.

I've got an MK6 Jetta with a 1.4L 118TSI engine. Started hearing this squeal sound at around 6500kms. Booked in for a warranty repair in April (earliest Barloworld could accomodate me).

How come some people were getting just water pumps replaced and others with clutches? Are these 2 separate problems or what?
