Being a builder I often have to deal with the different regulations that relate to driveways and laybacks. It's often impossible to comply.
Speed humps on the other hand work fine if you obey the recommended speed. 5km/ hour is nearly impossible IMO. Even my ute suspension struggles over the long term with those sort of things.

    Whooh there....
That was my point about driveways that often don't comply. It's often not the cars fault, nor the builders. A driver can limit their liability, but at the end of the day it's upto them to decide whether to stop or go.
I can assure you that 99.9% of driveways can be tackled without scraping the bumper by simply changing the angle of approach. This applies to a low spoiler just as much as it relates to a heavy load. The principle is the same.

I'd be a liar if I said I've never done the exact same thing exiting a driveway.
Speed humps are a different matter. If they damage your car at the recommended speed then a letter of demand is in order( as long as your car is within local regulations).

This wasn't by any chance Chatswood Classic. If so, that's where I might have done it too. The driveway from the showroom is just ridiculous! As for speed bumps, I am sure it wasn't that, I always approach at angles and creep over them, though the bigger issue is definately driveways, even mine is pretty steep from the road where it meets. As I back up and reverse into driveway the back end goes up hill leaving the front exposed if all factors line up.

I was panicking about the hail stones, jumped into car and tried to find shelter but just couldn't. I had BOTH our new cars out aswell. Thank goodness though they don't seemed damaged being only weeks old.

Bought our GTI off them, never again

However, we did take the R over there for a cruise and out the back exit

Didn't have a problem, using an angled exit and slow speed

Picked up a nice stone chip on the front grill today.

Chunk out of the black piano finish

    Oh well, less weight
