Yeh funny how a car can be parked a mile away from any other car but when you come back to it always seems to have made friends with other cars. I'd be having a word to the dealership about the damage asap.

Yep you're right about the tyres. Maybe the white will dull off quickly and become less noticeable. Rapt about it coming off the duco but wheel arches still need a little work. Really need to take wheels off to do it right.

Guttered a rear wheel (about 3 inches worth around the edge) - swerving as the di!@#$ next to me cut into my lane when going around a corner.

Never guttered a wheel in my life before this!

ah well - when I bought the car, i also bought a spare rim + tire on ebay for $250, so just waiting for that to arrive anyway!

A Ford Festiva clipped the rear left corner of my bumper this evening on the way home. Was on the main arterial straight road - my right of way, doing under 50km/h....no kidding and she failed to stop or never intended to stop at the intersection despite the large STOP sign! I did not realize it till I was passing the intersection and notice her car heading towards my passenger side with my wife in it, so I floored the accelerator, swerved right onto the opposite lane and quickly pulled it back in left to drift my rear away from the Ford - thanks goodness for the turbo and VW's driver training sessions...and coincidentally, believe it or not I've just signed up for the VW Evolution Driver Training course this morning!!! Worse thing is, she did not stop and drove away after the incident so I had to give chase to get her rego.
The amazing thing is that there was no structural damage nor dent to the bumper, just a few scratches at the corner, it was THAT close...clipped me by millimeters hence I did not feel the impact.

    Yep!

    Got one today!
My driver side bumper came to a contact with rear passenger side(just above the passenger side rear wheel) of another.
I was pulling out of parked space with no other cars to the front or at the back on quiet street...(yes, I wasn't paying attention...)
Other driver was driving straight minding his own business...
Other car owner wasn't sure if his car came to a contact with mine.
    I knew...
I felt so bad but yet again, thankful that it's so minor.

I was very apologetic and he was an absolute gentleman about the whole thing.
He was keep saying if it was worth the trouble(his car had many many dints, many many dimples and horribly fading paint on all over the car...) but I insisted we exchange details just in case.
He joked about how he wished that I damaged or rammed into his car just enough for his car to be written off...
I asked him if he would like to get quote of his own in case it's cheaper and more convenient than insurance claim.
He agreed that he will get quote and get in contact with me.

I have very good rating with my current insurance and I don't really care which way.

His damage looks more than mine.
It's where the passenger side rear strip ends right above rear wheel. Scrape marks of paint but no chip but it's metal body part that needs fixing. (it's dinted like a door ding)

    My damage...
It's only on the very corner of driver's side of the bumper.
No paint chip but marks and some indent if that... Can see some clear coat crack if I look really close. Bumper looks slightly and I say slightly moved by comparing the gap between the passenger side gap between a bumper and body part by looking at it and by running the hand over it. (gap between passenger side seems little wider by 2mm if that and that seem to contributed part of bumper to be slightly moved outward...)
I am not a type of person to drive any vehicle with blemish as such so I will still have to fix paint work on my bumper. Than again, I don't want to make mountain out of mole hill with bumper position,... (if I didn't look for it. I wouldn't know...) Per say, if someone pushed my car out of parking spot or whatever without visible damage, I wouldn't know.

Now, I wonder if it's just easy to take it to insurance and let them deal with the lot.
I really don't know what to do with this sort of minor paint job? or repair?
I don't know who to call or even where to take.

Can anyone help me out or give me some advise?

I have heard of (pardon the phrase) "Rim Polishers" , that can get slight curbing of your wheels fixed. My partner unfortunately curbed mine not too long ago, I was a little disappointed. Does anyone know of a good business in Melbourne that repairs them? Are they mobile too?

Picked the car up just over three weeks ago. Mother-in-law side swiped it this morning on her way to work! Got both driver's side doors and a nice crease in the rear wheel arch.
I was surprisingly calm about the whole thing. Maybe I'm still in shock...

It will all depend on what your excess is, My brother had a similar indecent like you a Woman in a Bentley changed lanes in front of him and he braked and just missed her , he was driving a 1999 Suzuki with a bull bar, well this woman jumped out and started to a buse him
saying he had scratched her car pointing to a mark on the rear wheel chrome arch ,
They exchanged details my brothers car sustained not a mark and he said hadnt touch her car .
Well about a month latter he got a bill for $28,000 ,every nut and bolt had to be remover the boot adjusted the rear bumper repainted a wheel alignment new rear tyre the list went on and on ,
His insurance came and inspected car and could not find one mark that lined up with her so called damage, so now she has taken him to the Supreme court except now she has reduced the damages down to just $18.000 ,
So always take pictures of any damage you may cause to any car before signing anythingthing.
