    They have also been tuned

    Apples to apples

I'd take them any day over an R
He was just picking up on my original post.. I think we all would accept an AMG 63 over the R given a choice

I must be insane then, because I was in the market for a C63 when i got the R I was moving 'up' from a BMW 125i and was considering M3, C63 and even an F355. Chose the R in the end, and tbh it was an easy choice...

Oh god, and I was so worried about a little damage on my car.

Dude, you need some help, seriously

You settled for an R ?

It is an unreliable, entry level sports hatch built for the masses like me who can't afford good vehicles.

    I didn't "settle" for an R, I chose it

Before i could afford a GTI, I wanted one. When I could afford one, I didn't want it anymore and set my sights on an R32 (at the time). When I could afford that, I didn't want it anymore and I wanted an RS4/M3. But when I could afford those, I didn't want them anymore and I realised I only wanted the next car up that I couldn't afford!

So I picked the car I'd want to have as an ultimate everyday car, and leave money left over for investment and later, an impractical second car since I already have an "entry level sports hatch built for the masses" to hide in when I don't want all the attention

Never been able to afford cars I've owned.

Guess that is where you and I differ and probably why I stress over the repairs to my car.

If I could afford an "ultimate everyday" it wouldn't be the R.

    Enjoy.

    Hehe

    Well, you could.

I love the R, I really do. It is the best car I could get within my budget.

However, if I passed up an M3 or AMG over the R, I'd be concerned about my state of mind.

That only applies to me. Others may indeed want to spend extra cash elsewhere.

The R has plenty of faults, mine a few extra after the repairs. It is an entry level sports car built for the masses.

Off to the repairers this morning - hopefully just some panel adjustment and wetsanding to remove excess film

One issue - excess paint on panel edges. Also needs the panel gap tightened up

Those are water drops btw, not an issue
