    Dammit thats unlucky lol!

Since picking up my car I've been trying to park as much as possible next to Audis, VW's, Mercs etc. when in public car parks. I have also realised that other VW/Audi owners tend to park next to me too hehe! Awesome

I try and avoid anything with scuffed bumpers and wheels. Car make I'm not worried about. I'd prefer to park next to a mid 90s Corolla with no car park damage than a near new Merc with marks all over the bumpers and all wheels kerbed.

Just because someone is rich don't mean a thing - you should see the yummy mummies around me that have 150K + cars that are constantly kerbing the wheels, bumping into things and generally not caring.

True dat. There's a AMG C63 and an Audi RS4 in my carpark that I'd never park next to. Neither owner has any respect for their cars, both have dings, both practically do burnouts out of the carpark on cold engines (literally <30 seconds after being off for 10 hours) and neither appears to have cleaned their car in months...

Instead, every day that I can, I park next do a 21 year old car which is worth <$10k, lol.

Yeah I think most of us would, but you get what I was trying to convey. Most of the time I just don't look at the condition of the car next to me.. but if I spot a VW or an Audi I'll happily park next to them. Brings upon a smile whenever I see one that had parked next to me, one can only hope for the other guy to think the same and take the same care as I would.

There's a RS6 wagon that lives near me that makes me cry every time I see it. Usually cleanish, but I see it parked half on kerbs, backing into posts, always has a toddler in it and drool marks all over it. Just makes me a bit sad.

Buy your ageing trophy wife a Range Rover. At least that way I won't care about a brilliant car being trashed.

I'm glad I don't drive to work every day.

Unfortunately once you get west of Pennant Hills Rd and north of the Parramatta > Blacktown line, there are no trains... and the only non-disconnected bus services are then only back to the train stations or the city... so... car it is for me. But I don't mind too much

I'm writing this under a new moniker for many reasons I do not want to disclose. It's not great when your car is involved in an accident and it's nice to have some privacy. I still thought I'd want to vent my disappointment over the incident, I almost broke out crying in tears but I have to man up and face the reality when I got out of the car.

The car is less than 6 months old. The road surface was really damp after some rain earlier in the day. Around 6pm, rush hour CBD. Just completed a hook turn with another car, driving around 50km/h. I was on the right lane, the other car was on the left. Suddenly, the car on my left signaled and changed lanes into the right, as I am by his side I stupidly swerved to avoid him hitting me, which resulted in me driving up the median, collecting a street sign and then onto oncoming traffic. Because of the low speeds, I must say I'm fortunate enough the impact wasnt bad when I collected the sign and hit the oncoming car head on. No airbags were deployed. The person I crashed into, a lady, was so nice, she was very understanding and said as long as we're both alive. The other car which caused me to swerve continued driving on without stopping. The damage still is beyond my wildest dreams..I could not sleep well for the first few nights.

At the moment, it's still at the smash repairs for assessment, just bodywork on it's own is not enough to write it off. Once they remove the subframe, i.e. suspension and control arm which they suspect is broken will they know more on the extent of the damage. Engine bay is unscathed. I anticipate maybe a minimum of 1 month before I see the car again, and if it's ever going to feel the same.

Wow that's too bad mate. And to add insult to injury the Rozzer is using your bonnet as a writing desk
