Have you noticed as well that Robert Street is now sign-posted four hour parking? Don't get a parking infringment too, that'll really p*ss you off.

Hey Frankenstrat. I have noticed that. I park there every day when I catch the train to go to work. They haven't got it yet on one side of the road though. Stupid revenue raising.

I can't see the logic behind it, myself. Just exactly where are people supposed to park if they catch the train at Canning Bridge station? Erecting signs like that doesn't solve the problem, it just moves it to another location, it's utter nonsense. I live in Robert Street but I accept that you have park somewhere if the station is just a short distance away. It's never stopped me driving up and down the street.

    Devastated

Well as you can imagine im pretty upset over my R getting hit in the rear and shunted into a brand new Audi Q5 (Less than a Month old). At this stage I have no idea what the quote will come in at, but after having to wait 8 Months for my car, then only own it for 2 Months before this.. im devastated, angry, and a whole range of emotions actually.

Luckily only had some whiplash as a result, but he hit me pretty hard

To give you an idea, although it does not look much on this 4WD, the thing also had to be towed as well. Fk I was angry at the guy who hit us..

Will let you know how it all pans out.

Bitchin' - big bullbar on his car hides the extend of the damage done on the car behind.
I was involved in a similar accident in my MKV Golf GTI - except instead of a 4WD it was a bus, and it hit me so hard that I was pushed into the 3 vehicles in front, and it caused a buckle in every single body panel including the roof! Since the airbags didn't go off on my car (lucky, cause I was leaning forward to get a drink out of my door pocket) the insurance company thought they were going to repair it... until they started pulling it apart...

Sorry to hear about this mate.

Farkers with those stupid bullbars. Damn lot of damage, I'd be raging as well!

I had a similar incident in a falcon years ago which ended up needing a new bonnet/boot, front/rear guards/bumpers, headlights and taillights and it didn't even look anywhere near as much of an impact as that!

If you're with AAMI, ask them to write it off. If you're with a decent insurer, hope they let you choose a good place!

That really sucks bezzy. Feel for ya, I am paranoid about my R all the time now, especially when the Mrs takes it work and has to park it out on the street all day :/ Hope it all gets sorted out as quickly as possible for you.

Big Dave, it wasnt raining and I was stationary when he hit, hence a lot of the damage occured quite high at the front as I had my foot on the brake stopped in traffic (Car nose dived) I thought the airbag would have gone off but then thought given I was stationary it would not.

Yeah I am with AAMI, it is being assessed at the moment, its really in the hands of the people doing the assesment I spose Dave.. until they rip panels etc off I wont really know the extent of the damage.. I have a choice of repairer to come and quote, but I have no idea, so did some research and selected some euro repair places from down Mornington way who have a good reputation to also come and asses it.

Thanks mate.. TBH ive never been involved in a prang, but you just can't stop the dim wit behind you from not watching what they are doing hey.. wrong place, wrong time.. bugger.

Surely these panels and bonnets etc are not just laying around at VW Australia? Or would they be?
