First week, someone trollied our Tiguan passenger front door...
I had the paintless dent romoval guy to do some work on my WRX this week (6 dents/4 panels $200 and almost all are invisible...Steve, Dent King Cooma)

Unfortunatley the Tiguan has a side intrusion bas directly behind the feature line that is dented so he couldn't remove that one.

My Golf has some paint missing from the front bumper, it was there when I took it for a test drive in February (on dealer plates I should add) and possibly happened during transporting. I was given the option of having it repaired free of charge, or free first service. It really didn't bother me, I knew there would be stone chips before too long. I did however sustain four dents from the Great Perth Hail Storm of March 2010. At $75 per panel for paintless dent removal, I may give that a miss, too. The dents are in different panels, one on the bonnet, one on the front mudguard, one on the roof and one on the LH rear panel. The only one that's noticable from a distance is the one on the mudguard.

I now have two tiny chips in the bonnet and two in the windscreen thanks to a truck leaving a trail of bouncing crushed quartz as he sped along the freeway in front of me. Since then I've made a point of giving sufficient room between me and any truck in front that someone is bound to slip into the gap.

That's how I got a chip in my windscreen a few months ago. Cost $120 for an O'Brien repair. I was more interested in trying to overtake him since it was a single two-way road at 100kph. Maybe I should've backed off

The 2nd day I had my Golf, we were out on a road near Mt Glorious, car coming the other way threw up a rock and hit the windscreen. Wasn't a large rock but enough to bulls eye the glass! I couldn't have cried. Pulled over to inspect the damage and put a clear sticker over it to keep the dirt out and off we went. Had it fixed on the Monday which only cost me $55 and it come up pretty good. I can still notice the repair but I'll notice any mark on my car.

You drive around with clear stickers in your car?

Yeah, I got a couple in the glove box of both cars. Get them from the windscreen people. The less dirt and crap that gets into the crack or star, the better the repair.

Isn't there an option in your insurance, where you can opt for windscreen damage repairs without paying excess? I got this along with a hire car if needed for 14 days.

Heh. Cool. I'll have to add that to my little travelling car toolbox

I've got that cover. I sent the insurance company the invoice and they sent me a cheque.

    GTI in trouble

5 months 5 days after picking up my GTI Mk6 - I will remember Rememberance Day.

Find out tomorrow if it can be saved.

Luckily my wife is all right - she was getting ready to pick me up from hospital (after a knee operation) where I thought I would not be able to drive my car for 4 days - it will be a little longer now.
