Not my first damage - but a few weeks back i managed to gutter rash both my passenger side rims on a protruding gutter in a carpark. I was sooooo pi$$ed off.

It wasnt too bad - the front rim had damage about 1cm x 1cm, while the rear rim was about 1cm x 5cm.

Had them repaired yesterday by a mobile repair guy who does work at the dealership my brother works at, and they look 100%. Colour match is perfect (they only painted the damaged area) and the scratch marks are all gone. There is some slight overspray on the rest of the rim which ill tidy up with my clay bar this weekend - otherwise im very happy. $100 well spent.

    Well folks,

I made it nearly 30,000km (a little under a year) on my mk6 candy white golf gti without any damage.

Bugger! I've had this happen to me as well (at a small independent with a good rep), with a brand-new set of rims. I ended up just giving up and vowing never to go back, but a part of me wishes I'd taken it further.

3mm deep x 20cm long scratch on my rear bumper and some scuffing, car vs. bricks (my fault, grumpy as can be with myself!).. Quote by Smart Finish, scratch n dent repairers for $250... Guessing that's reasonable as I was thinking $200-300.

Had my octavia 1 week before my 2.5 yr old threw a rock and smashed the rear window into a million pieces, $640 and 5 day wait to get replacement glass from sydney and I think I might add glass cover to my insurance.

Family member was helping me reinstall the rain tray in the Golf and though using a rubber mallet would help (I didn't see him get it).

O'Brien quoted $698 to come out and fit a new one (with rain light sensor).

I hope you thought using the mallet on him would help!

The rain tray just pushes in! Wowsers.
